Housekeeping tasks on tap for Russian spacewalkers

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A couple of housekeeping tasks are on tap for a pair of spacewalking Russian astronauts aboard the International Space Station.

They ventured out Monday morning to set a nanosatellite loose for research purposes.

It weighs barely two pounds and holds a camera that will be aimed at Earth.

Meanwhile, American spacewalks remain on hold.

NASA hoped to resume spacewalks this month after a year-long investigation, but delayed them until fall to get fresh spacesuit batteries on board.

They'll be delivered next month.
