Flight ban lifted for Israel
WASHINGTON, D.C. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The FAA lifted its ban on flights to Israel just before midnight Thursday.
In a statement overnight, the agency said it lifted the ban after getting new information on measures the Israeli government is taking to ensure the safety of flights.
The decision to ban flights had been met with harsh criticism from the Israeli government.
Thursday morning Secretary of State John Kerry flew back to Cairo without brokering a cease-fire.
Military operations on the ground and in the air in Gaza are continuing.
