Flags replaced on Brooklyn Bridge after white-washing

BROOKLYN (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Old Glory is once again flying over the Brooklyn Bridge one day after two flags were replaced with ones that had been white-washed.

White flags are international symbols of surrender.

They were put up sometime overnight Tuesday despite police cars parked on either side of the bridge and several cameras monitored 24-7 by police.

Several people were spotted on the bridge around 3am, but no one noticed the flag change until 5am.

Police say while there's concern about how the prank was carried out.

There does not seem to be a connection to terrorism.
