KENTUCKY (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The Ice Bucket Challenge weny terribly wrong for a group of firefighters in Kentucky.
Police say two firefighters were seriously injured when the fire truck's ladder got too close to a power line as they helped college students take part in the charity.
One of the firefighters is in critical condition and the other is stable.
They were in the truck's bucket as it was being lowered when they were shocked.
Two other firefighters were also shocked, but they're expected to be okay.
"If you get within a distance of 3-4 feet the energy that surrounds the high voltage will actually arc onto another object, in this case the personnel occupying the bucket," said Police Chief Tim Hazlette.
