Costumed characters want to form labor group

NEW YORK (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A group of costumed characters want to be treated like real people. Real working people that is.

Dozens of the actors assembled in New York City's Time Square Tuesday.

They say they may want to form a labor group.

The problems started after the NYPD started a campaign that said tipping these characters isn't mandatory.

The actors say this move resulted in a drop in income.

The cops say the move came because of harassment complaints from the public.
