Cops bust U-Haul truck with over 3 tons of marijuana

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Cops in California busted a U-Haul carryign three tons of marijuana and they've got the pictures to prove it.

Police say two men were moving more than 6,700 pounds of pot in the back of the U-Haul when the van's driver ran a red light in Bakersfield.

Police pulled the vehicle over and noticed a strong odor coming from the locked cargo area.

Inside, officers found the weed--which had a street value of over $76 million.

The driver and his passenger were arrested on charges of possession and transportation of marijuana.
