CDC under investigation for handling pathogens incorrectly
WASHINGTON, D.C. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A congressional committee will hear from witnesses Wednesday dealing with an investigation at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
For the third time in a month, the agency acknowledged deadly pathogens were handled incorrectly in government labs.
A government probe found anthrax stored in unlocked refrigerators in hallways, dangerous materials being transported in resealable bags, and problems with inventory records.
The CDC says at no time was anyone at risk.
