Calif. beachgoers get a scare when juvenile great whites show up
MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Beachgoers in southern California got a bit of a scare this week.
Great White sharks were spotted swimming a little too close for comfort in the waters off Manhattan Beach.
Lifeguards were alerted to about 4 or 5 juvenile sharks, swimming just south off the pier.
While the 1975 film, Jaws, left an image in many people's minds about sharks being man-eaters, experts say sharks traditionally do not attack humans--especially the juveniles.
