Amazon buyers complaining of new delivery scam
(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Amazon buyers are complaining of a new delivery scam.
Affected consumers say they've ordered a product, but never received it.
This is how the scam reportedly works:
Third-party sellers on the site allegedly send your package to another address in your same city. Then, someone else signs for it, which creates a delivery record.
So, even if you didn't receive your package, Amazon has records to prove that the package was delivered at some point.
"All Amazon at the current time seems to check for is that the package was delivered and signed for in that same city and state," said Amazon customer Dave Polanco.
Amazon says it doesn't tolerate fraud.
Officials say that a good way to look out for this scam is to choose established Amazon sellers, with multiple positive reviews.
