Sen. Stabenow takes wait and see attitude before commenting on possible opponents
(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Senator Debbie Stabenow says she's not concerned that Kid Rock might run for her Senate seat.
Just a few weeks ago, Kid Rock launched a website called Kid Rock for Senate, saying he might challenge Stabenow in the 2018 election.
While in Kalamazoo Tuesday, Stabenow was asked if she's concerned about the potential challenge.
Stabenow now says it's too early to tell if Kid Rock--real name Robert Ritchie--will make it out of the primaries.
The Senator also says Kid Rock might be preoccupied come November 2018.
"I will say this. He's going to be pretty busy with his concert tour, and he's got a big primary, so I'll wait to see who comes out of the primary to address it," she said.
Recent polls show Stabenow leading Kid Rock 50-percent to 42-percent in a hypothetical race.
Kid Rock has identified with the republican party, and has endorsed Mitt Romney and President Trump during their runs for president.
