Zachary Patten expected in court to face charges in Kalamazoo
KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Newschannel 3 expects the man police say murdered two people in West Michigan is expected in court tomorrow.
Zachary Patten is accused of killing Graciela Portillo-Esparza at the Americana Estates Mobile Home Park in Kalamazoo, back on July 20th.
Police say he shot and killed her after she got in the middle of a fight he was having with another man.
From there Patten allegedly drove to a home near Constantine, where police say he shot and killed his ex-wife's new husband, Shane Richardson.
The next day, Patten turned himself in to South Bend, Indiana police.
Patten has already been charged with murder, home invasion, and weapons charges in St. Joseph County.
Thursday, he's expected to be charged with murder in Kalamazoo County as well.
Newschannel 3 will have a crew in court Thursday for Patten's hearing.
