Woman killed, driver injured in rollover crash into water in Barry County

Deputies say a woman was killed when a driver lost control of the car, flipping it into the water in Barry County.

BARRY COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - One woman is killed in a rollover crash into the water in Barry County.

The Barry County Sheriff's Office tells us it happened at M43 and Cloverdale Road just north of Delton Saturday night.

Deputies say a 23-year-old man from Hastings was driving when he lost control and flipped his car, landing in the water on its top. A 29-year-old woman, Camilia Ray from Hastings, was trapped inside the car which was partially under water.

Crews were able to get her out and take her to the hospital, but she was later pronounced dead. The driver of the crash was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Investigators tell us alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
