Woman arrested following fatal Grand Rapids stabbing

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A woman has been arrested after a man was found stabbed to death at a Grand Rapids apartment complex.

Police say it happened jsut before 1:00 a.m. Friday at the Millbrook Apartments on Pastiche Drive.

They say a 36-year-old woman--identified Friday afternoon as Janaya Aflower Johnson--stabbed 33-year-old James Washington several times.

Washington was pronounced dead at the scene.

Johnson was charged with one count of open murder, and is currently being held at the Kent County Jail.

She is being held without bond, and will be formally arraigned on Tuesday.
