WMU unveils $500K investment in Michigan Geological Survey
KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A major investment will put West Michigan on the forefront of developing natural resources in the state.
Thursday, legislators and geo-scientists gathered at Western Michigan University to unveil a $500,000 investment in the Michigan Geological Survey.
WMU has been home to the survey since 2011.
This new investment will expand geological mapping, to better understand resources like water, gas and coal that are available in Michigan, to better protect them, and more efficiently utilize them.
