Warning issued over Halloween contact lenses
(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - This Halloween beware of what you put on your body.
The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, also known as ICE, says it's working on a multi-agency effort called "Operation Double Vision."
It targets illegal imports and distribution of counterfeit contact lenses.
ICE says these contact lenses have a habit of popping up at holiday stores, convenience stores, novelty shops and other places during Halloween.
Health experts warn that wearing contacts not prescribed by a doctor can lead to eye infections, allergic reactions and even in some cases vision loss.
