Wal-Mart store robbed at knifepoint

COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Deputies are investigating after a man robs a Kalamazoo County store at knifepoint.

It happened at the Wal-Mart on Gull Road in Comstock Township, just after 12:30 a.m. Saturday. Witnesses say a man entered the store, showed a pocket knife to a cashier and demanded money.

When she didn't move fast enough, they say he poked the cashier with the knife before running away with a small amount of money.

A K-9 unit tracked the suspect from the store to an area where deputies believe he got into a vehicle and left.

Deputies describe the suspect as a black male about 40 years old, 6 feet tall and weighing 200 lbs. He was seen wearing blue pants, a tan t-shirt, work boots, a yellow and orange construction vest and yellow hard hat. He was clean shaven, with short braided hair.
