W. Mich. woman killed shopping at 'Michigan's Longest Garage Sale'
NILES, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A West Michigan woman has died after state police say she was hit while shopping at Michigan's Longest Garage Sale, a 180-mile long yard sale stretching from New Buffalo to Detroit.
78-year-old Carole Martin was on US-12 near Bell Road outside of Niles this morning.
Police say she was trying to cross US-12 to get to her car when she was hit.
This is the second straight year that someone's been killed during Michigan's Longest Yard Sale.
Last year, a bicyclist was hit on US-12 near Edwardsburg.
