UPDATE: Van Buren Co. woman found safe but does not want to go home

VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Deputies in Van Buren County say a Geneva Township woman, missing for nearly 10 days has been found alive and safe in Kalamazoo.

Sheriff Dale R. Gribler reports that Robin Shepherd was located Wednesday evening after someone recognized her photograph on the 11'o clock news.

They say she is in good health and in a safe location. Shepherd has reportedly stated she does not want to return home for personal reasons at this time, her family has been advised.

The 43-year-old was last seen Monday, August 4, at Borgess Hospital on Gull Road in Kalamazoo.

Shepherd was a patient at Borgess, and was released on August 4, at around 2:00 p.m.

Deputies say Shepherd spoke with her husband around noon that day, and did not indicate that she was scheduled to be released.

Again, Robin Shepherd has been located and she is safe.
