Twitter will consider removing images on request after deaths

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Twitter will consider removing photos and videos of people who have died at the request of immediate family members.

The social media site says it will consider removal of images that are taken when a critical injury happens moments before or after a death.

This policy change comes a week after Zelda Williams, daughter of comedian Robin Williams, announced she was quitting Twitter after gruesome photoshopped pictures were sent to her.

Twitter responded by blocking several accounts.

However, the site says it may not honor all requests if the content is considered newsworthy or of public interest.
