Sturgis firefighter facing CSC charges has been fired

STURGIS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A Sturgis firefighter accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a teenage girl no longer works for the department.

The Sturgis Fire Department released a statement saying Jason Snyder has been separated from employment, effective Friday.

The 36-year-old is charged with four counts of criminal sexual conduct.

Snyder is due back in court next week.

If convicted, he could face 15 years behind bars.
