Students to face criminal charges after bomb scare

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Four West Michigan students face criminal charges after their actions caused a bomb scare at East Grand Rapids High School.

Two of the suspects are identified as Nicholas Emery and Peter Donnelly.

Police say surveillance video shows three of the suspects entering the school illegally with suspicious packages.

A bomb squad determined the packages didn't pose any threat.

Investigators say the students used copies of a stolen key to get into the school in order to put together a scavenger hunt for their classmates.

Three of the students face charges of illegal entry, malicious destruction of property, and possession of stolen property.

The fourth student is a minor, and faces two counts of larceny.
