      Smoke detectors recalled

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - There is a recall for a series of smoke detectors that do not go off when there is a fire.

About 141,000 ESL and Interlogic brand 400-500 series smoke detectors are part of this recall.

The company says radio frequency interference can cause the smoke detectors to fail to alert consumers of a fire.

These smoke detectors can be found in commercial buildings, schools, hotels, motels, apartments, dorms and homes.

The hard-wired units are part of a security system.

If you have one, you are asked to call the company right away for a free replacement with free installation.
