Search ongoing for missing Berrien County kayaker

(UPDATE, 03/01/18 at 12:40 p.m.) -- Per a press release from the Berrien County Sheriff's Office, the search is still ongoing for the missing kayaker, who has been identified as 35-year-old Cory Wright of Niles.

BCSO is joined by North Berrien Fire Department and Watervliet Fire Department as the search continues this afternoon, led by Lt. Martin Kurtz.

More information will be released as it becomes available. Stay tuned to Newschannel 3 for updates.

A search is on for a missing kayaker in Berrien County.

Last night, police say three people we're kayaking along the Paw Paw River in Watervliet, just east of Coloma, when two of the kayaks got hit by a log in the river.

One kayaker was able to swim to shore, while the other has not been found.

Police say he's a 35-year-old man from Niles.
