Schoolcraft woman charged with embezzlement
SCHOOLCRAFT, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A Schoolcraft woman has been charged with embezzlement.
Police say that 57-year-old Deb Herring was charged earlier this week with embezzlement over $20,000.
A warrant was issued for her arrest last Wednesday and she turned herself in on Monday.
Herring is the former administrative assistant for the Three River Chamber of Commerce.
Police say that she took between $20,000-$50,000 from the chamber over a seven-year period.
Herring is currently out of jail on a $10,000 bond. Her next court date will be on August 5th.
