Report: Kellogg expected to close Georgia plant in 2015

GEORGIA (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The Kellogg's plant in Columbus, Georgia is expected to close its doors by the end of 2015.

According to the CBS station in Columbus, employees were told not to come into their regular shift, but instead to meet at the trade center with their badges Monday morning.

At the meeting Kellogg's said the company is consolidating and cuts will begin in the spring of 2015.

The company is giving employees the option to apply to plants in other cities like Atlanta and Rome, Georgia.

The company estimates that 325 jobs will be impacted by the closure of the plant.
