Prosecutor declines to file charges in Bangor schools duct tape incident

BANGOR, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The Van Buren County Prosecutor will not file charges in the Bangor schools duct tape incident.

Newschannel 3 broke the story this week, in the wake of a video recording of the incident, which saw a student duct taped to a chair by a teacher with Bangor schools.

The Bangor Police Chief confirmed to the I-Team late Friday morning that the Van Buren County Prosecutor has declined to pursue charges in the case.

Newschannel 3 was told by several students that the teacher who used duct tape on the student was also involved in the video that featured Bangor teachers talking inappropriately about students.

We reported on Thursday that the teacher involved in the duct tape incident has resigned.
