UPDATE: Police investigating fatal bicycle crash on Portage Road

PORTAGE, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Portage Police confirmed a bicyclist is dead after being hit by a truck while riding on Portage Road Monday evening.
Monday night, police identified the victim as a 20-year-old man from Kalamazoo Township.
Police are still trying to notify family members of the victim in this crash, and say they won't release the name of the victim tonight.
The crash happened on Portage Road at Industrial Drive, near the Pfizer facility, at 6:31 p.m.
Police cleared the scene just before 11:00 p.m., and traffic is flowing normally.
When Newschannel 3 first arrived on scene, the bike was crumpled underneath the truck as first responders provided medical attention.
Police tell us the victim was riding a bicycle northbound on Portage Road, when he was struck by a white Chevy pickup truck, driven by a 20-year-old Hartford man.
The truck came to rest on the curb.
Right now police are doing reconstruction, to try and determine the factors leading up to the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
