Paw Paw man killed in accident at intersection
PAW PAW, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – Van Buren County Sheriff Deputies investigating after a man is killed after an accident at an intersection.
Deputies were called to the intersection of 32nd St. and 45th Ave. at 6:40 p.m. Saturday after two vehicles collided and came to a stop in a nearby pasture.
First responders said a 30-year-old Paw Paw man was severely injured and CPR was started, but he died at the scene.
On Monday morning, the man was identified as Alex Yeider.
An 18-year-old Paw Paw man was taken to Bronson with minor injuries and an 18-year-old Paw Paw man, who was a passenger, was uninjured.
Investigators said the 18-year-old ran the stop sign at the intersection and hit Yeider's vehicle, but the they are still investigating. Deputies said they do not suspect drugs or alcohol.
Deputies said they will take the investigation to the Van Buren County Prosecutor for review after it is complete to determine if charges will be sought.
