Patricia Randall voted new mayor of Portage
PORTAGE, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) —
Patricia Randall won the Portage mayoral race by just a couple hundred votes.
Newschannel 3’s Anna Giles was at her watch party at The Cove in Portage where her staff and supporters having a good time.
Observers said a record amount of cash was spent on the race, with Randall raising more than $28,000. She out raised and out spent her opponent, Nasim Ansari, by roughly $18,000.
Former Mayor Peter Strazdas, who held the office for six terms, said he has never seen this level of money and influence in the city of Portage.
