New factory set to open, bring 250-plus jobs to W. Mich.

ALBION, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Hundreds of jobs and millions of dollars in investment is on its way to a West Michigan community.

A company that makes brakes for cars is moving into Albion, and is set to bring in 254 jobs.

Brembo North America plans to build a factory in Albion Township producing brake rotor castings.

This will be a $78 million investment.

The company has been given tax credits and grants for bringing in all the jobs.

Brembo just opened a new facility in Calhoun County back in May.

The upgrade to a plant in Homer was expected to create more than 100 jobs.

Governor Rick Snyder issued a statement on the new jobs Tuesday, saying:

"These projects will add to our growing momentum and economic growth. We've worked to better our state's business climate and our efforts are bringing strong results."

It's not yet known when the work will begin on the new factory.
