Multiple crews battle warehouse fire in Schoolcraft

SCHOOLCRAFT, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Crews are investigating a massive warehouse fire in Schoolcraft this morning.

Thursday night, flames broke out inside Cloverleaf RV, just off US-131, in Schoolcraft.

Fire officials say someone driving by saw the flames and called 9-1-1.

When crews got there, they found flames and smoke shooting from the roof.

They were forced to fight the fire defensively, and because of everything inside the building, the fire didn't let up easy.

"We had motor homes, campers, plus a lot of the plastics and vinyl, plywood," said Chief Tracy McMillen, with South Kalamazoo County Fire Authority.

Fire officials tell us the fuel inside the RV's kept igniting, re-sparking the big fire.

We're told no one was inside the building at the time, and no one is injured.

The owners tell us that RV's parked outside the building or in their storage facility were not damaged in the fire.

Crews have been out investigating even early this morning to figure out what caused the fire.

Eight departments in the area were called to help battle the flames.
