Multiple charges expected against Mecosta Co. rave organizers

MECOSTA COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Authorities say they will file multiple charges against the organizers of a rave over the weekend in Mecosta County.

It happened Saturday night as more than 2,000 people showed up and the party got out of control.

The Mecosta County Sheriff's Department got a call around 11:00 p.m. Saturday night about traffic problems near a home in Hinton Township on 70th Avenue.

Deputies say most of the people there were under the age of 21.

They say a 19-year-old woman from Mount Pleasant was sexually assaulted and dozens of others were taken to the hospital for drug and alcohol overdoses.
