Michigan minimum wage goes up Monday

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Michigan's minimum wage is set increase to $8.15 an hour, starting Monday.

The wage will continue to rise in annual increments, capping at $9.25 an hour in 2018.

The raise affects about four percent of Michigan, which is about 2.5 million workers.

Michigan State University economists say the raise will not help improve the overall economy.
