Men sneak into Grand Haven home to steal while homeowner distracted

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Police are investigating a scam that targeted a senior citizen in Grand Haven.

A man, claiming to be a contractor, went to an 87-year-old woman's home Tuesday and asked for a bucket of hot water to assist with asphalt work.

While the woman was occupied, two other men snuck into her home and stole several items.

The suspects are described as three Hispanic men. One is 40 years old, 5 foot 8, medium build, with no facial hair. He claimed to be a construction worker.

Another suspect is around 30 years old, 5-foot-6, with a heavy build. The third suspect is in his 50's, with a heavy build.

All three were in T-shirts and jeans.

They were driving a white four door sedan with an out of state license plate.
