Major health survey kicks off in Kent Co.

KENT COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A major health survey is kicking off this week in Kent County.

The Health Department says some residents can expect to get letters and phone calls to participate in the 2014 Behavior Risk Factor Surveillance System.

It collects data on several key issues that are leading to causes of premature deaths among adults--cigarette smoking, alcohol use, physical activity, diet, hypertension, and safety belt use.

The information will be used to better health promotions and programs.
