Local artist unveiled mural under the Veteran’s Memorial Park Bridge
KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A ribbon cutting ceremony for a new mural on the Kalamazoo River Valley Trail was held at the Arcadia Brewery on Saturday.
The mural is under the Veteran’s Memorial Park Bridge and meant to honor some of Kalamazoo's history.
The piece is about 20 feet wide and 7 feet tall, and illustrates wildlife native to the Kalamazoo River, the history of the river and contains a tribute to WWII veteran Emma "Big Momma" Didlake.
The local artist, Patrick Hershberger also known as 'Bonus Saves' had been working on the mural for a few weeks.
