Local area law enforcement and firefighters collect teddy bears for traumatized kids
TEXAS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The Kalamazoo County Sheriff Department and the Texas Township Fire Department are teaming up with local businesses to collect stuffed animals for children during times of trauma.
The Teddy Bear Posse is a 10 week campaign, which starts Monday, July 11. The campaign will collect donated stuffed animals to help children in stressful times.
The donated teddy bears will be put in police cars, fire trucks and ambulances to be given to kids during traumatic situations.
A kickoff event is planned for Thursday, July 14 at 9 a.m. at the Texas Township Fire Department. The event is open to the public and organizers are asking for stuffed animals to be brought to the event.
