In this week's edition of Positively Michigan, cast members of the Lion King musical are encouraging kids to lead healthy and active lifestyles.

It's part of the "Get Up and Go" program and today, cast members went to Schoolcraft Middle School and taught fifth grade students dance sequences from the Broadway show.

“They have watched the Lion King since they were three (years-old),” Sheryl Peterson, a fifth grade teacher at Schoolcraft, said. “They know all the songs, know all the movements and then to see it come alive on stage, and to actually see these people come in and talk and then watch them, and they get to practice and do some of the same moves, they are loving it.”

The class was selected through a contest. The students will get to watch a performance of the Lion King Thursday at Western Michigan University's Miller Auditorium.
