Lawsuit thrown out after spring GR flooding

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A lawsuit between Grand Rapids and the Plaza Towers complex has been thrown out of court.

Owners of the complex claimed that a pedestrial walkway, built into the downtown floodwall in the 1990's, exposed the building to floodwaters last April.

But a judge dismissed the suit Friday afternoon, saying the original developer signed a contract, promising not to sue the city.

The judge said that prevents any lawsuit from moving forward.
