Kalamazoo Public Library announces 'Fine Forgiveness Week'
KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Along with giving thanks, the Kalamazoo Public Library is embracing forgiveness.
It has announced a Fine Forgiveness Week, October 23rd through October 29th.
Anyone can come in and have their overdue fines wiped.
It's inspired by the story of a former Benton Harbor cop who admitted he falsified a report that sent an innocent man to prison for drug dealing.
Just last year, the two met in the same unemployment office, eventually finding forgiveness and friendship.
You can hear their story on October 25th at 6 p.m. at the Alma Powell branch library on West Paterson Street.
