Kalamazoo man fighting for his life after hit and run
KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Police are desperately seeking the public's help on a hit and run case in downtown Kalamazoo.
Police say a man is in critical condition after being hit by a car.
The driver didn't stop to help, and is still on the run.
The crash happened on East Michigan Avenue, just before 3 a.m. Friday. Police found a man lying in the middle of the road.
If you're familiar with the area, the spot is between Green Top Tavern and Memories Bridal.
Newschannel 3 was the only news media on scene as police investigated the crash.
Kalamazoo Public Safety tells us a passing car saw the man lying in the street and called 9-1-1.
They tell us the victim is 34 years old, and had severe head trauma, and appeared to have been hit by a car.
He was rushed to Bronson, where he's currently in critical condition.
Right now, police are trying to gather surveillance video from the businesses on this strip to see if they can pin down a suspect.
