Kalamazoo issues precautionary boil advisory following water main break
KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The City of Kalamazoo announced late Monday morning that the Department of Public Services is working to repair a water main break in the area of Stadium Drive and Lovell Street.
As such, the city has put in place a precautionary water boil advisory due to the temporary pressure loss that will occur in the system as a result of the repair efforts.
The affected area includes Stadium Drive/W. Michigan Avenue, from Eldred Street to West Lovell Street, as shown on the map below.
The city emphasizes that the advisory is precautionary only, and that there have not been any confirmed tests showing bacteria in the water main at the location of the break.
We're told work should be completed and the advisory lifted within 72 hours.
We will keep you updated on air and online when the advisory is lifted.
