Kalamazoo gas station robbed at gunpoint overnight
KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Police are searching for two suspects after a local gas station is robbed at gunpoint in Kalamazoo.
It happened around 2:30 a.m. Thursday at the Citgo gas station at Stadium and Drake.
Kalamazoo Public Safety tells us the suspects came into the gas station, and the man pointed a gun at the store clerk and demanded money. The pair then took off running with the money from the register.
A police K9 tracked the suspects to a nearby parking lot, but did not find anyone.
Officers checked the surveillance footage and learned the two suspects were in the store earlier in the night. They had left the store in a vehicle but later returned on foot and carried out the robbery.
Police say no one was injured.
Kalamazoo Public Safety says they are looking for a man and a woman. The man is described as a black male in his mid-20's, about 5'10" to 6" with a medium build. He was wearing dark gray pants, a light gray hoodie, black shoes and was armed with a handgun. The woman is described as a black female in her mid-20's, about 5'6" and 130 lbs. She was last seen wearing a light gray hoodie, pajama-style jeans and white tennis shoes. She was also wearing a white t-shirt under the sweatshirt with the letter "U & I" visible.
The pair were both spotted in the surveillance video driving a 2011 to 2013 Ford focus, 4-door that was bright red in color.
