Kalamazoo County deputies identify victim who was shot and left by roadside
KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Department has identified a man who was shot and dumped on the side of the road in Kalamazoo County.
Investigators said 40-year-old Ryan Harrington was shot and dumped near the corner of Sprinkle Road and East Michigan Avenue.
Harrington remains hospitalized, in critical condition and fighting for his life.
Investigators say the shooting took place inside the home of 46-year-old Matthew Edward Derr, who lives not far from where Harrington was found.
The Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Department says the two men were acquaintances.
Derr was arraigned Tuesday, on charges of assault with intent to murder, felon in possession of a firearm, felony firearm, and operating a meth lab.
He is currently lodged in the Kalamazoo County Jail, with bond set at $250,000.
