Hollie the therapy dog memorial service held in Kalamazoo
KALAMAZOO, Mich. —
People are saying their final goodbyes to a longtime therapy dog in Kalamazoo on Tuesday.
Hollie the golden retriever passed away last week after she retired from comforting grieving families at Betzler Life Story Funeral Homes for 16 years.
Funeral Director Scott Betlzer got the idea to use Hollie as a therapy dog while serving on the Kalamazoo Humane Society Board.
Betzler Life Story credits Hollie as the first funeral home therapy dog in the greater Kalamazoo and Paw Paw areas.
People are invited to say their goodbyes until 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home on Stadium Drive.
Food and drinks are being served and there will a chance to share favorite memories of Hollie.
