Hearing postponed for man accused of child abuse

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The preliminary hearing for a man accused of abusing a little girl he was babysitting, has been postponed.

Twenty-five-year-old Manuel Hernandez is charged with first-degree child abuse.

The mother of 10-week-old baby Isabella says Hernandez was watching the child while she was at work on June 25.

She says he admitted to slamming the baby on the ground because she was crying. Isabella is in critical condition with a feeding tube.

A new court date has not been set.
