Hear Us on Hunger connects community with Congress

A local non-profit is connecting the community with Congress over proposed cuts to food assistance programs.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A local non-profit organization is giving residents in Kalamazoo County a chance to connect with Congress about a proposed house budget that plans to significantly cut funding for food assistance programs.

Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes is holding the "Hear Us on Hunger" event Tuesday.

They are encouraging you to stop by and write a letter or make a phone call, telling representatives how the proposed cuts would affect your family.

The event starts Tuesday and runs through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

It's happening at the Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes Community Room on Portage Street.
