Grand Rapids Public Schools earns major award from PNC Foundation
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Grand Rapids Public Schools earned a big award from the PNC Foundation.
The schools are being given more than $20,000 to bring an interactive program called Visual Story Telling with Wimee into their classrooms.
The foundation says the program will teach kids to express their creativity on iPads, turning their words into images and allowing them to tell a visual story.
As part of the grant, every kid will get a copy of the book, Wimee's Words, to use along with the free app called Wimage.
The program will be implemented into all GRPS pre-K classes over the next few months.
