Former teacher accused of sex crimes
CALHOUN COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A former teacher is arrested on criminal sexual conduct charges.
Deputies spent several hours Wednesday night searching Jason Ferrell's home near Battle Creek. The former Quincy Community Schools teacher was then transported to the Branch County Jail.
Branch County Undersheriff Keith Eichler tells NEWSCHANNEL 3 Ferrell was arrested on a six count criminal sexual conduct warrant. He says the investigation into Ferrell started in July of 2016 after rumors about inappropriate sexual conduct surfaced.
Investigators aren't saying whether the alleged victim was a student or what the allegations entail. We're told that information will be released after he's arraigned, which is expected to happen Thursday.
