Following controversy, Craft Draft 2 Go announces closure
KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Just weeks after getting tangled in controversy, a Kalamazoo bar is closing for good.
The website for Craft Draft 2 Go says the business on Stadium has closed and that an outside investment group has seized ownership.
There is also a plan to sell off the business, including the Class C liquor license, tap equipment, and the video surveillance system.
This comes weeks after co-owner Aaron Van Arsdale became the center of controversy over Facebook photos that appeared to tie him to white supremacy. This led to public outcry and vandalism of Craft Draft.
Van Arsdale apologized for the photos and met with the leader of the Kalamazoo NAACP.
Before Thursday's announcement, Van Arsdale said he planned to step away from the business.
